Against the euro, the national currency depreciated by 0.7%, the Central Bank said, which has not held any foreign exchange auction sessions since December 2021.
On the interbank market, the volume of foreign exchange transactions against the dirham stood at MAD 44.1 billion in February 2025, down 17.6% year-on-year, the same source added.
Regarding transactions between banks and their clients, volumes in February amounted to MAD 31.8 billion for spot purchases and MAD 17.7 billion for forward purchases, compared to MAD 35.2 billion and MAD 15.2 billion respectively in the same month of the previous year.
As for sales, they amounted to MAD 36.6 billion for spot transactions and MAD 4 billion for forward transactions, compared to MAD 31.7 billion and MAD 4.2 billion respectively.
