Palestinian Woman Killed, Three Injured in Israeli Shelling

Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) – A Palestinian woman was killed, and three
others were injured Thursday in Israeli shelling in the Gaza Strip,
amid the escalating violations of the ceasefire agreement in place
for the past year.

According to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), the
Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said the woman was killed and
three others were wounded when Israeli artillery directly struck a
residential home in the Al-Tawam area northwest of Gaza City. The
injured were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City for treatment.

Israeli forces also carried out a major demolition operation
northeast of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, while military vehicles
opened heavy fire east of the city.

Five Palestinians were killed Wednesday, and others were injured,
including an elderly man and a Civil Defense member, in Israeli
airstrikes and gunfire across several areas of Gaza.

The Palestinian death toll since the start of the Israeli assault on
Gaza on October 7, 2023, has risen to 74,250, while 175,278 people
have been injured, according to Palestinian figures.
