Khartoum, Jan. 18, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, for approving the Sudan Medical City project.This came during his inspection visit Sunday afternoon to the Sudan Medical City project. He was accompanied by the Prime Minister’s Advisor, Nizar Abdullah Mohamed; the Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim; and the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Ali Mohamed Ali.During the visit, the Prime Minister commended the valiant Armed Forces, the Joint Forces, the General Intelligence Service, mobilized personnel, and the Mujahideen, as well as all those who contributed to the nation’s historic battles of dignity, affirming that Sudan will emerge victorious.He also praised the Ministry of Health and all workers involved in rebuilding medical and health institutions to serve citizens. In this context, he called on Sudanese abroad to continue voluntary returns and to observe the blessed month of Ramadan in their homes, adding, “The Hope Government is continuing to reconstruct all state facilities.”For his part, the Minister of Health highlighted the role Sudan Medical City can play in reducing the cost of treatment abroad, indigenizing medical care within the country, and promoting medical tourism. He said, “Just as Sudan Medical City was a fortress of resilience during the war against rebel militias, it will now be the foremost medical fortress safeguarding the lives of the people of Sudan.”FA/BH
