Omdurman, January 22, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris said the media represents the civilized front that translates and conveys to the world the enduring victories of the Sudanese people. He made the remarks during an inspection visit to the Sudanese General Authority for Radio and Television (SGART) in Omdurman, accompanied by Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eisir, and Television Director Walid Mustafa.The Prime Minister reviewed reconstruction efforts following the destruction caused by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, reaffirming the Government of Hope’s commitment to restoring media institutions better than before. He praised Sudanese media professionals and the role of Sudanese women in the Battle of Dignity, and declared 2026 the year of peace- “the peace of the victors.” He outlined the government’s peace initiative presented to the Security Council, centred on the withdrawal and cantonment of militias, launching a comprehensive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, and holding free and fair elections.FA/BH
