Khartoum, January 24, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris affirmed that native administrations and Sufi sects represent Sudan’s safety valve, praising the role played by community leaders and traditional authorities in uniting the national front and strengthening social cohesion.The statement came during his visit on Saturday to Abrag Al-Sheikh Taha village in East Nile, accompanied by Chairman of the Higher Council for Social Peace Al-Noor Al-Sheikh Al-Noor. He was received by the Chief of the Batahin Tribes, Muntasir Sheikh Khalid Talha, along with a group of native administration leaders from across the country.The Prime Minister lauded the sacrifices of native administrations and their role in the Battle of Dignity, highlighting their support for the Armed Forces. He emphasized that native administrations and Sufi sects constitute a fundamental pillar in achieving national reconciliation and community peace, especially under the exceptional circumstances the country is currently experiencing.Dr. Kamil Idris reiterated that public security and livelihoods are among the top priorities of the Government of Hope, stressing the government’s commitment to providing services and promoting rural development, which he described as the foundation for the country’s economic renaissance.For his part, Chairman of the Higher Council for Social Peace Al-Noor Al-Sheikh Al-Noor emphasized the need to unify the national front, noting the crucial role of native administrations and Sufi sects in successfully implementing the Council’s programmes, which aim to spread a culture of peace and strengthen social harmony.Meanwhile, leaders of the native administrations expressed their happiness at the Prime Minister’s visit, saying it reflects the state’s and its leadership’s recognition of their role in fostering national unity and cohesion.
