Khartoum, 2 March 2026 (SUNA) — Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris today met with Wali (Governor) of North Kordofan, Abdel-Khalig Abdel-Latif, to review the overall humanitarian and security situation in the state.The Wali told reporters that he briefed the Prime Minister on the state’s service and security conditions, highlighting North Kordofan’s efforts in supporting the Armed Forces in the Battle of Dignity, as well as its role in hosting displaced persons (IDPs) within the state.The Wali of North Kordofan State also noted that the meeting addressed the post-war plan for 2026, designated as a foundational year, along with the state’s five-year development plan in line with directives from the Council of Ministers.He added that the meeting discussed the state’s vision to establish large-scale investments and industries, and to improve the security and service environment in Al-Obeid, North Kordofan’s industrial capital, ahead of the Industrial Forum in North Kordofan. The Wali indicated that the state government’s programs and projects will be presented at the upcoming forum for walis and governors.BH/BH
