Amman, July 21 (Petra) — The Anti-Narcotics Department has carried
out a series of targeted operations across several governorates in
recent days, resulting in the arrest of 17 suspected drug dealers and
the seizure of significant quantities of narcotic substances,
according to a Public Security Directorate spokesperson.

In Madaba Governorate, security teams conducted a raid targeting
locations linked to drug-related activities, leading to the arrest of
three suspects and the seizure of narcotics.

In Amman, authorities handled two separate cases. In the first, three
individuals suspected of drug promotion were arrested following
planned operations, with officers seizing one kilogram of crystal
methamphetamine, a quantity of narcotic pills, and a firearm. In the
second case, two suspects were arrested and nine hashish slabs were
seized.

In Mafraq Governorate, a drug dealer was arrested after authorities
searched his residence and found 20,000 narcotic pills hidden in a
pit within the house’s yard.

In the Southern Badia region, three suspected drug dealers were
tracked after authorities confirmed their involvement in transporting
narcotics to Amman. They were stopped and arrested, with 13 hashish
slabs, 1,000 narcotic pills, and a firearm found inside their
vehicle.

In the Central Badia, security personnel raided a tent where three
suspected drug dealers were allegedly involved in selling narcotics.
The operation resulted in their arrest and the seizure of 36 hashish
slabs.

In Karak Governorate, a drug dealer was arrested during a raid, with
35 hashish slabs seized. In Ma’an Governorate, authorities arrested a
person after receiving information about marijuana cultivation at his
residence, where the plants were found and confiscated.

The Public Security Directorate said the operations were carried out
as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities and
enhance security across the Kingdom.
