Sudan Participates in API Summit on Public Financial Management Reform

Johannesburg, March 28, 2026 (SUNA) – State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Advisor Mohamed Nour Abdeldaim, participated in the African Professional Initiative (API) Public Financial Management Reform and Governance Summit (PFM Visionary Summit 2026), held from March 23–27, 2026, in Johannesburg, South Africa. under the theme: “Accelerating Public Financial Management and Governance Reform through Ethics, Best Practices, and Technology.” The State Minister chaired, in his capacity as a keynote speaker and expert, a specialized session titled “Coordinating Public Financial Governance Systems,” where experts discussed ways to enhance transparency and accountability in public financial management through integrated systems and digital transformation.This active participation comes within the framework of the Ministry of Finance’s efforts to strengthen regional and international cooperation, exchange expertise in public financial governance, and review global best practices in leveraging modern technology to improve transparency and efficiency in managing public resources.The summit brought together leaders of African and international professional organizations, along with financial sector leaders from 52 countries.During his participation, the State Minister reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to advancing its reform program and implementing public financial governance standards in line with international best practices, as well as strengthening transparency and accountability in public finance management to support economic reform efforts and enhance confidence among citizens and international partners.On the sidelines of the event, Advisor Mohamed Nour Abdeldaim held several meetings that resulted in understandings with the International Federation of Accountants and PAFA (Pan African Federation of Accountants) to initiate support for Sudan’s financial reform program led by the Ministry of Finance, with partner support expected soon. A memorandum of understanding was also signed with the African Professional Initiative, aimed at supporting financial reform efforts in Sudan.BH/BH
