Khartoum, Jan. 29, 2026 (SUNA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation welcomed the positive statement issued today, Thursday, by the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).In its statement, the Ministry said: “The Government of Sudan welcomes the positive statement issued today, 29 January 2026, by the Secretariat of IGAD, in which the organization, through its Executive Secretary, condemned all forms of violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and affirmed its full support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and existing national institutions.”The statement added: “The Government of the Republic of Sudan expresses its gratitude and appreciation for the valuable efforts of His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, Chair of the current IGAD session.
