TRC Joins Global Telecommunications Symposium for Regulators in Ankara

Amman, May 20 (Petra) — A delegation from the Telecommunications
Regulatory Commission (TRC) participated in the 2026 Global Symposium
for Regulators (GSR-26), organized by the International
Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Ankara from May 12 to 15.

In a statement on Wednesday, the TRC said the symposium served as a
high-level global platform to discuss the future of regulation amid
rapid technological developments.

Sessions focused on proactive regulation, artificial intelligence,
promoting innovation and investment ecosystems, and developing
regulatory frameworks capable of keeping pace with digital
transformation and building resilient, sustainable digital markets.

The event also included a roundtable meeting for heads of regulatory
authorities, providing an opportunity for regulatory leaders from
around the world to exchange expertise and perspectives.

The TRC said its participation comes as part of efforts to strengthen
Jordan’s presence in specialized international forums, highlight the
Kingdom’s experience in developing the regulatory environment for the
telecommunications and information technology sector, review the
latest global trends and practices, and build channels for
cooperation and knowledge exchange with participating regulators and
international organizations.

The GSR is one of the ITU’s leading annual events, bringing together
regulators, decision-makers, experts and stakeholders in
telecommunications and the digital sector from around the world to
exchange expertise and develop regulatory best practices that keep
pace with global digital transformation.
