Doha, Jan. 27, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, held a bilateral talks session on Tuesday at the Amiri Diwan, focusing on the trajectory of Sudan–Qatar relations and ways to strengthen and expand cooperation in the interests of the two brotherly peoples.The TSC President conveyed his gratitude to the Qatari Amir for the warm reception and generous hospitality, commending the State of Qatar’s supportive stance toward Sudan and reaffirming Khartoum’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation across priority sectors.For his part, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani welcomed the TSC President and the accompanying delegation, expressing hope that the visit would further consolidate joint cooperation and propel relations toward broader horizons.The talks reviewed bilateral relations in various fields and addressed developments in Sudan, as well as international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability while safeguarding the country’s unity and sovereignty.The Sudanese side included Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mohy-Eddin Salim; Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim; Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan Dr. Amina Mirghani; Director General of the General Intelligence Service General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal; Sudan’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar Ambassador Badr-Eddin Abdullah; and Director of the Office of the TSC President Major General Adil Sabdrat.The Qatari side was represented by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani; Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Khulaifi; Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari; Head of the State Security Agency Khalfan bin Ali Al-Kaabi; Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi; along with a number of senior officials.BH/BH
